I am very pleased to welcome you on my site.
I want to invite you to get a good overview of my work. From the very beginning my artisitic development has been much influenced by the period of Impressionism and Expressionism of the early 20th century (Fin de Siècle). Its bright range of colours and its vibrating dynamic have always been an important inspiration for me. Ever since, extremes and areas of conflicts have been central to my artistic work. More precisely: I like to confront static figures to an emotional dynamic. That means, I prefer calm topics – a portrait or a classical snapshot – and I try to work out the emotional side of the figure through vibrating often highly contrasting colours or a variety of stroke widths. In some cycles of my work the effect of depth through strong light/dark contrast is pointedly renounced. As well as a detailed work out of the background. The motive often seems to be isolated or becomes blurred with the background almost to one layer. For me the authenticity of the figure is very important. By the use of mimic accentuation, the change of colours and structures as well as the employment of lights and shadows, the obvious topics of my work are given a vividness which hides a secret inside. Now the interested observer is invited to discover it for himself. I wish you much pleasure with my art. If you have any questions or need some information, please do not hesitate to contact me. |
